Help Fund His Service Dog

4-year-old Thomas, has Dravet Syndrome—a rare and severe form of epilepsy that causes drug-resistant seizures, developmental delays, and a high risk of SUDEP (Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy). We brought home Ziggy, a loving German Shepherd, with the hope of training him as a seizure-alert service dog for Thomas. Now, we're ready to begin that training. Through a Dravet Syndrome network, we found Mike—a retired K9 trainer with 20+ years of experience—who now trains service dogs for kids like Thomas. Ziggy will learn to detect seizures through scent, alert us, and get help. Training will be done at home by Thomas’s dad, Matt, with guidance from Mike. Once complete, Ziggy will be certified to accompany Thomas anywhere. We’re asking for donations to help fund this training, which will add critical safety and peace of mind for our family. Thank you for your support!

Help Oliver Get His Service Dog To Help Keep Him Safe

Oliver was diagnosed with Autism, Low Tone Cerebral Palsy, and 4q35.1 deletion syndrome at around age two. Now 11, he continues to face daily challenges, especially with mobility and safety. After much research, we've decided a service dog and a Huckleberry Cascade hiking cart would significantly improve his quality of life. These tools are expensive, but life-changing. Although free service dog programs exist, they often involve years-long waits. We've connected with a trusted trainer who can provide a dog specifically trained for Oliver’s needs, including preventing elopement, alerting us to danger, and staying by his side. The hiking cart would allow Oliver to join us on outdoor adventures he currently misses due to limited mobility. Donations will go into a special account to cover the cost of the service dog, the cart, and other essential equipment. Asking for help isn’t easy, but knowing support like this could truly change Oliver’s life makes it worth it. We’re deeply grateful for any contribution.

Client Testimonials

  • Charlie & Sunny

Charlie and Sunny have been a team since Charlie was 5. In the beginning, we had simply hoped Sunny would help him through times of disregulation. But she has far exceeded those expectations. Sunny has helped Charlie in countless ways over the years, it has been beautiful to watch and unfold.

Sunny does several tasks for Charlie including deep pressure therapy, block, traction forward walking, and redirecting self harm. She has also given him confidence, pride , and independence. We have been able to do so much more together as a family than we ever could have imagined. We are all so grateful for Sunny.

  • Zach & Bosco

In May of 2022, Zach’s service dog, Bosco, arrived from Phoenix, Arizona. Bosco has been specialty trained over the last year in preparation to meet Zach’s needs. He’s helped his balance and stability support as well as helping with his visual impairments.

It has been a game changer for Zach. Who would have thought a service dog could impact a person’s life in so many positive ways? Zach has more confidence now getting back out into his community since his illness.

Within the first few weeks, Zach was able to overcome things such as taking outdoor walks, going to restaurants, and going to the movies - which were all huge wins for our family. Bosco is such an incredible dog and we are excited to see what’s ahead for Zach and Bosco. They are best buddies in the making for sure!
